Am I the only one who doesn’t sleep around full moons? What about you?
It’s not a question I routinely ask. Being born and bread near “earthy” no nonsense Belfast - this is “witch”/weird territory which is kinda funny considering in Ireland believing in fairies and leprechauns is totally acceptable.🧚🏼 Especially after a few pints!
The celt in me, however, senses that in days gone by we were much more in tune with the natural world and the movements of the cosmos. It’s a pull I’ve felt all my life. I have always been drawn to look up to the heavens especially when the night sky is clear and it’s teeming with radiant stars. There’s something magical about the sparkling stars being held in the vaste sea of darkness.
Recently I’ve started asking people, mostly women (I’m careful who I ask😉), if they too aren’t sleeping well or are feeling unsettled around full moons. To my surprise, and to a degree relief, I’m finding so many are, especially women and those who are highly sensitive.
I have to admit I like my sleep. It’s my refuge and restoration. So when full moons hit and I don’t sleep for days, like this week, I feel really depleted, unsettled and agitated. I need the world to cut me some slack - hmm I need to cut myself some slack 😁 What about you?
Ignoring the flow of life and it’s natural rhythms?
It’s obvious to me that so many of us have been conditioned to go against these natural rhythms - both within and without. We push ourselves to be “on” 24/7 when the truth is there is an innate ebb and flow to life, it moves in cycles and we ignore this at our peril eg burnout being an obvious one.
(It occurs to me in writing this that I might, someday, write a post about the wisdom and magic in darkness or in what the modern world labels depression. Would that be helpful?)
Now for the offpiste fun bit….your mind will have a LOT of opinions no doubt. May you feel into this instead just to see what might be revealed. Just for fun!
I know a lovely man called David Manning who works with energy in ways that fry my brain, assault my conditioning but intrigue my spirit. I wanted to share his insights about the upcoming Equinox (tomorrow) with you. May your mind be challenged, stretched and with a bit of luck part of you will remember something from deep within.
September Equinox (this Sunday) - insights from David Manning:
From this Equinox through to the December Solstice arising energies will be unlocking and dissolving ancient seals within us and the earth. As they rise they wash away what went before. Sometimes there is turbulence in this process, but it won’t be long lasting.
There’s going to be a lot more energy present (you may already be experiencing this). Flowing through us and the planet.
These energies have extraordinary vitality and force. They are birthing energies of a New World.
The huge influx of light happening around the Equinox is already flowing directly into the meridians and dragon lines of the earth. it is a part of the unblocking process, melting the seals that we participated in putting in place.
As the level of energy steps up, you may experience weird physical symptoms.
Energy is rising from a point of origin, and it is rising through a huge accumulation of experience and wounding built on top of it. It is dismantling this quite systematically. You may be having a recurrence of old symptoms, or old wounding coming to the surface.
If you feel like you might be experiencing any of this, try going underneath it. Dropping very deep into these unlocking fields of energy deep in your system and in the earth. Focus there and invite the emerging energies to wash through your patterns, whatever is arising in your system. This will help.
I have felt over the past few days a profound letting go and release. I can feel a re-wiring taking place, but at the moment my legs feel weak and a little unstable. It has been very strange, and I'm happy that it is now improving.
This is all a part of the energies unlocking and rising through old patterning and wounding.
So there you go…..looks like our sleep won’t be getting better anytime soon.🥴
That being said, what if we…
Started to embrace again the natural rhythms of life?
What if we went with the wisdom of these energies to make the most of them?
Not least, what if we were a little kinder to ourselves in our own ebb and flow?
I think we’re all white witches who’ve parked our brooms for too long 🤣. Let’s go flying together again! See you up in the stars.
As an aside, David Manning offers regular online gatherings on a Sunday 7pm UK time where he energetically takes the group into this realm - that’s the best way I can describe it for now. www.davidmanningenergywork.com
I like the thought of bringing the inner flow more back in sync with the naturalistic environment I'm embedded in ...
Living here in Switzerland close to the alps to me as HSP creates a relationship to a local wind phenomenon when it comes to sleep and energy related things (and headaches for that matter) but I think it would be interesting to track if the moon phases also have an impact in particular because I'm a natural nocturnal type of person thats commonly disconnected, not impacted by the circadian rhythm.
Yes it seems to be about dragon energy; washing away the old; stepping into the centre of our own world; sovereignty
